A new round of Mitigating Against Educational Disadvantage Funding (MAEDF) has been announced.

Following the success of projects funded through the Mitigating against Educational Disadvantage Fund (MAEDF) in 2020, we are pleased to advise that €10 million in funding to support a new open call has been confirmed for 2021.

The purpose of the MAEDF 2021 is to assist ETBs to increase capacity and that of community education providers to address the decline in participation of disadvantaged learners, particularly those on literacy and basic skills programmes at NFQ levels 1 to 3.

The funding places a strong focus on community education as a mechanism to continue to support and engage with disadvantaged learners. In addition to the demographic, there is also a focus on  investment in the digital infrastructure of providers and their capability to ensure that online and blended learning can be delivered in a way that meets the complex needs of learners.
