Creagh Footballers Make History

December 11, 2014

Our juvenile footballers made history today by winning the South Leinster Juvenile Final versus Kilkenny Vocational Schools.

The first half was a very tense affair with scoring opportunities at a premium. Michael Whelan soloed through the heart of the Kilkenny defence and unleashed an unstoppable shot to the roof of the net. This score saw the Creagh boys settle to their task and they went in at half time leading by 4 points despite having played against a very strong wind.

The second half was dominated by Creagh College as we used the helping wind by kicking direct ball into our full forward Ross Pedoe. Ross proved to be a great target man and he finished the game with a tally of three goals.

This victory is a credit to our players who trained every week without fail since September 1st. It is hoped that this trophy will be the first of many sporting trophies to adorn our college trophy cabinet.
