Coláiste Abbain

September 7, 2015

Wexford Mental Health Association and Mental Health Ireland came to Coláiste Abbain on Friday last with a purpose to launch their Poster campaign for both Primary and Secondary schools on how to promote and develop positive mental health.

They also took the opportunity to launch an Expressions Project competition for secondary school students. The theme of the project “Positive Mental Health is….” Students between the age of 16 -18 can express their opinions through creative writing, art work, drama, poetry, etc.

We at Coláiste Abbain are looking forward to taking part. We had a lovely afternoon, Mick D’Arcy from Piercestown is both the frontman of Corner boy – arguably Wexford’s top band right now – and the man behind them, came in support as did members of the Under 21 – Captain Conor McDonald, Jim White, Liam Ryan, Tony French, Oliver O’Leary, Billy Kelly and David Dunne. 6th Class students from Tombrack NS came to lend their help too.

South East Radio’s Alan Corcoran called to see what was happening. A special word of thanks to Ms Wall for organising the whole event. We loved it. Now it’s our turn to do play our part. Watch this space!.

Best of luck to Under 21’s in the All Ireland Final, Please bring back the cup to our school!!!
