Certificate in Agriculture Courses 2016

August 10, 2016

Coláiste an Átha, Kilmuckridge

Now commencing the fifth year of the delivery of Agriculture Education, Coláiste an Átha, Kilmuckridge, offer full-time QQI Level 5 and Level 6 Certificate in Agriculture courses.

The college is located in a rural area with a very strong and vibrant farming community. The courses were devised to meet the needs of the farming community and were developed in consultation with local farmers and farming groups such as Macra na Feirme and the Irish Farmers Association at both county and national level. Relationships have also evolved with national agencies and industry-leading companies such as Connolly Red Mills, Keenan Alltech, Slaney Foods, Dairymaster amongst others, which has provided the staff and students of the college with access to some of the best facilities and specialists in Ireland.

On completion of the Advanced Level 6 Certificate in Agriculture (Green Cert) the holder will be classified as a young trained farmer.
These courses have received a hugely positive response from the farming community of Co Wexford, with progressive local farmers in particular being very generous with their expertise and with facilitating some excellent field trips.

The Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture has been developed by the college and provides students with a natural progression from the Level 5 Certificate. The college has also developed links with third level institutions for those graduates who wish to continue with their studies to degree level.

Due to continued expansion and in response to this demand, additional places have become available for September 2016 for both the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture and the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture. Courses will commence in early September 2016.

An online application form is available at www.colaisteanatha.ie, and for further information contact Diarmuid or Paul Tel: 053 9130118.
