Please note that WWETB no longer assesses new applications for Student Grants.  This is done by Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI).  Further information is available at: www.susi.ie 

We provide means tested grants to eligible students who are renewing their applications to follow approved Third Level Courses.

RENEWALS 2017/18

Renewal Forms were posted to all students who are currently in receipt of a grant and who are expected to continue on to the next year of their current course. If you have moved since the date of your original application please contact us immediately with your new contact address.

Renewal forms need to be fully completed and returned with either exam results (Level 6, 7 & 8 students) or a letter from their college confirming that they are entering the next year of their course.

No student will be awarded a grant for 2017/18 unless this information is sent in to us.

Students will have their applications reassessed for the 2017/18 academic year and will need to submit income documentation for the 2016 Tax Year.

If you have completed a PLC Course and you are continuing to study in an IT or University then you will need to complete a new application (see below).

If you have completed a Higher Certificate course and you are progressing to an Ordinary Degree you will need to complete a new application (see below)

If you have completed a Higher Certificate or Ordinary Degree course and you are progressing to an Honours Degree you will need to complete a new application (see below).

If you have completed an Honours Degree Course and you are continuing to study at Postgraduate Level then you will need to complete a new application (see below).

If you are changing your course or college then you will need to complete a new application (see below).

New applications will be made online to the single awarding authority, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) through www.susi.ie

APPEALS PROCEDURE

If an applicant is aggrieved by the decision made on their grant application they may appeal within 30 days of receiving the letter advising them of that decision.

Appeals must be made on our Notice of Appeals Form which may be requested from us and addressed to:

The applicant should clearly outline the reason for their appeal and enclose any documentation which they feel may be relevant.

NEW GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR 2017/18

All new applications will be made online to a single awarding authority, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). This system is now open to receive new applications for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Please note that students who are changing course, college and or course level or who are progressing to a new course (this includes add-on courses) will also need to apply online through SUSI.
