Introduction to VTOS:
What’s involved and who can apply?
We aim to give unemployed people education and training opportunities which will develop their employability. By completing a VTOS course participants will gain recognised national qualifications up to QQI level 5.The centre provides a supportive environment for learners who wish to return to education at any stage of their adult lives. You will have the chance to update your education and skills and will be prepared to engage in further education or to gain paid employment.
A VTOS course is provided free of charge. Students also get a training allowance equal to their social welfare payment and are entitled to a meal and travel allowance as well. To qualify for VTOS, generally students must be:
- Aged 21 years and over
- Getting unemployment payments for at least 6 months
- Be in receipt of One Parent Family Payment
- In receipt of a disability payment.
Eligibility: You must satisfy VTOS criteria to qualify for entry onto this course.
Enrolment Details: Courses commence in September. Places are limited, apply early to avoid disappointment.
